Job summary

Amcor is seeking a qualified engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will review new products from a manufacturing perspective and lead multiple projects across sites from conception to qualification, with accountability for productivity, schedule, and budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging industry, including project management.
• Experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong communication and people skills to influence and manage resources.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with SPC.

Responsibilities

• Create and manage capital project scope, BOMs and budgets.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are integrated into project plans.
• Refine feasibility studies into actionable implementation plans with cost and timing alignment.
• Review plant infrastructure and equipment against project requirements; plan upgrades and expansions.
• Analyze equipment performance and cost, evaluating machinery and tooling.
• Publish weekly project status reports and resolve issues.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and standards for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to monitor long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Travel ~60%.
