Job summary

Peoplelink Staffing, in partnership with a prominent Lee County, MS business, seeks an Accounting Supervisor in Guntown to oversee and mentor the accounting team, manage month-end close, and prepare financial reports. The role demands GAAP expertise, strong Excel skills, and the ability to collaborate across production and operations to drive cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
• Oversee daily accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Payroll support.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reports.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, inventory valuation, labor costs, and overhead allocations.
• Monitor and reconcile inventory transactions and assist with physical inventory counts.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and reporting requirements.
• Partner with production, operations, purchasing, and leadership teams to improve financial performance.
• Investigate variances and provide recommendations for cost savings and process improvements.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial data for accuracy.
