Job summary

Total Staffing Solutions in Aurora, IL is seeking a Journeyman Manual Machinist to repair, restore, and manufacture precision components. You will operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and related equipment with meticulous attention to detail.

This full-time, first-shift position offers $40 per hour starting pay and a stable schedule from 7:00AM to 3:30PM. Ideal candidates have extensive shop experience, can read blueprints, and perform precise measurements to ensure quality.

Qualifications

10+ years of machine shop experience preferred.
Strong experience operating manual mills, lathes, and grinders.
Ability to read blueprints, use precision measuring tools, and perform shop math.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to share knowledge and learn from others.
Must own a basic set of machinist tools.
Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly and up to 60 lbs occasionally.

Responsibilities

Operate manual mills, lathes, grinders, and other machining equipment.
Repair and remanufacture customer and company components to required specifications.
Set up machining operations and determine the best tooling and work‑holding methods.
Inspect finished parts to ensure quality and accuracy.
Troubleshoot machining challenges and recommend solutions.
Plan and prioritize daily work to maximize efficiency.
Work closely with team members to solve problems and improve processes.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
Perform other shop duties as needed.
