Job summary

Australia-Employment is seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for 1st shift on-site in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role focuses on setting up and operating manual lathes, mills, and other traditional machine tools to produce precision components for industrial repair and rebuild projects.

Candidates should have 3+ years of manual machining experience, read blueprints, and be comfortable using micrometers and calipers.

Qualifications

3+ years of manual machining experience preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
Familiarity with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, boring mills, and other conventional machine tools.
Machine, modify, and repair large industrial components to blueprint specifications.
Interpret blueprints, drawings, tolerances, and work instructions.
Perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other inspection equipment.
Select tooling, speeds, and feeds appropriate for various materials and applications.
Maintain tight tolerances and high-quality standards throughout production.
Assist with troubleshooting and repair projects involving worn or damaged equipment.
Work collaboratively with machinists, welders, and maintenance professionals to complete customer projects.
Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area.
