Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a Senior Manager for US Indirect Tax Controversy to own the execution of its US indirect tax audits, including sales and use tax, gross receipts tax, property taxes, and business license taxes. You will design the audit process, manage cross-functional data, and defend positions, guiding the team in complex, high-stakes matters.

You will mentor other leaders, collaborate with Tax Compliance, Planning, and Operations, and work remotely from within the US with limited travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in state and local tax audits, controversy, or compliance.
• Experience with end-to-end audits and management with auditors.
• Process owner who built trackers, cadences, or reporting packages.
• Ability to defend unsettled positions and explain approach.
• Strong understanding of sales and use taxes and related taxes.

Responsibilities

• Own execution across the full US indirect tax audit portfolio.
• Design trackers, cadences, and metrics to show exposure by issue and status.
• Build cross-functional channels to secure data and facts for audits.
• Set defense strategy, negotiate with auditors, and bring matters to resolution.
• Mentor a Manager and Associate Manager, and uphold audit craft.
