Job summary

Biogen is seeking an experienced Learning & Development professional to design, develop, and deliver curricula for Rare Disease customer-facing teams, applying adult learning principles and ADDIE methodology to maximize impact and adoption across the field.

You will lead onboarding and ongoing learning initiatives, partner with Sales, Marketing, Medical, Legal/Regulatory/Compliance, and vendors to create accurate, field-relevant content, manage programs and budgets, and assess training

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree required.
  • 6+ years of professional experience.
  • 3–5 years in Commercial Learning, Sales, Marketing, or Consulting.
  • Experience supporting product launches and Rare Disease brands preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver learning curricula for Rare Disease teams.
  • Lead onboarding and day-to-day learning initiatives using stakeholder feedback.
  • Facilitate live, virtual, and blended trainings for new hires and field audiences.
  • Partner with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure accurate content.
  • Manage content approval through Promotional Review Committee processes.
  • Assess training effectiveness via surveys, feedback, and performance data.
  • Develop content for launches, label updates, Fast Starts, POAs, and ad hoc initiatives.
  • Manage program timelines and budgets across concurrent projects.
  • Ensure training complies with Biogen values and relevant SOPs.

Job description

  • Design, develop, and deliver learning curricula and training programs for customer-facing Rare Disease teams using adult learning principles and ADDIE methodology
  • Lead onboarding and day-to-day learning initiatives and optimize the learning experience using stakeholder and field feedback
  • Facilitate live, virtual, and blended training for new hire and experienced field audiences
  • Partner with vendors and Sales, Marketing, Medical, Legal/Regulatory/Compliance stakeholders to create accurate, field-relevant content
  • Manage content approval through the Promotional Review Committee process
  • Maintain alignment with Medical Affairs
  • Assess training effectiveness using surveys, field feedback, and performance data
  • Engage with field teams and managers to identify skill gaps and recommend learning interventions
  • Develop and deliver content for launches, label updates, Fast Starts, POAs, and ad hoc initiatives
  • Manage program timelines, budgets, and vendor partners across concurrent projects
  • Ensure training complies with Biogen values, code of practice, and relevant SOPs

Report to the Director, US Commercial Learning & Development

Requirements
  • BS/BA degree required
  • 6+ years of professional experience
  • 3–5 years in Commercial Learning, Sales, Marketing, or Consulting
  • Experience supporting product launches and/or Rare Disease brands preferred
  • Deep understanding of the commercial pharmaceutical/biotech landscape, customer behaviors, and adult learning principles
  • Track record of delivering end-to-end learning processes, including curriculum design, development, and classroom facilitation
  • Ability to navigate and execute independently in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, managing through ambiguity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated success collaborating in a matrix environment and with external vendor partners
  • Demonstrated integrity on the job, including understanding of relevant rules and regulations
  • Limited domestic travel, expected to be no more than 25%
