Job summary

Sanmina is seeking a Senior Manager of U.S. Export Compliance to lead the day-to-day direction of the company’s export controls. You will ensure ITAR, EAR and OFAC compliance across global operations and manage a small team of remote analysts.

In this role you will develop policies, implement training, and coordinate with plant managers, legal, and suppliers to monitor classifications, screening, and licensing. A U.S.-based background and extensive regulatory expertise are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years in U.S. export compliance, including managing a corporate Export Compliance Program for a global manufacturing company.
• 10+ years people management experience, including leading, motivating and managing remote staff.
• Extensive knowledge of ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations, including emerging issues for U.S. exporters.
• Strong jurisdiction/classification skills across the U.S. Munitions List and the EAR Control List.
• Experience in developing and implementing trade compliance automation and tools.
• Adaptable and fast-paced; strong communication skills and cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements to operational processes; strong data analytics.
• Strong Excel skills; Oracle experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the corporate Export Compliance Program for ITAR, EAR and OFAC regulations.
• Determine and implement new procedures to address regulatory changes and risks.
• Develop and implement training plans and compliance tools for all aspects of U.S. export compliance.
• Act as primary liaison to U.S. plant managers and site export compliance officers.
• Interface with plant personnel, customers and suppliers to manage classifications.
• Oversee customer and transaction screening programs; resolve escalations with Legal.
• Manage the technology control program and deem export reviews.
• Submit classification requests and licenses to BIS and ITAR; manage DDTC registrations.
• Support senior leadership on special projects such as M&A due diligence and disclosures.
