Job summary

Vertiv in Westerville, Ohio seeks an experienced Manager, Thermal Controls Platforms Testing to lead validation and verification of embedded and system software for thermal controls platforms. You will own the test strategy, drive automation, and scale lab workflows while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, service and program leadership.

The role emphasizes system validation, lab automation, CI/CD integration, and rigorous defect reporting to ensure high-quality thermal control

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in test engineering/validation/quality roles (controls, embedded, industrial automation).
• 3+ years leading teams or test programs with cross-functional visibility.
• Experience with automation (scripting, frameworks, CI integration) or lab automation.
• Strong troubleshooting across firmware/software, controls logic, networking and electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Own the platform test strategy: unit, integration, system, regression; define coverage and gates for releases.
• Lead a team of test engineers: hire, coach, develop, and performance-manage; set priorities.
• Plan tests with milestones, resource plans and lab utilization.
• Drive automation at scale: standardize automated frameworks and regression suites.
• Ensure lab readiness: rigs, simulators, instrumentation, data capture.
• Perform system-level validation of performance, stability, fault handling, and recovery.
• Coordinate integration validation with internal/external equipment/interfaces.
• Establish defect triage processes and clear status reporting to stakeholders.
