Job summary

Vertiv is seeking a Thermal Lab Supervisor on the second shift in Columbus, Ohio. You will lead a team of Test Technicians performing design validation testing for Vertiv's Thermal product portfolio, ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to Vertiv's 5S standards.

You will collaborate with New Product Development and Advanced Engineering to develop test plans and setups, conduct validation testing, and prototype activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent combination of technical, process, and managerial experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting new product development and product validation activities.
• Experience leading or coordinating technicians in a laboratory or manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build rapport and improve team performance.
• Solid understanding of test planning, execution, tracking, and documentation.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to meet aggressive new product development and introduction timelines.
• Experience addressing employee performance and succession planning with Human Resources.
• Ability to interface professionally with customers.
• Track record of meeting operational goals set by business leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day laboratory operations to meet development objectives.
• Conduct daily stand‑up meetings to review workload and priorities.
• Direct and support Test Technicians to ensure safe, efficient test execution.
• Review and sign off on test results and product release readiness when required.
• Manage laboratory facilities, equipment, and resources for readiness and compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Test Technicians with regular performance discussions.
