Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, CA seeks a Senior Manager, Supplier Development Engineering to lead a cross-functional team delivering manufacturing engineering support for TMTT implantable devices and delivery systems.

You will drive supplier development, NPI, and robust DFM practices across the product lifecycle, enabling successful development, scale-up, and commercialization with a focus on quality and cost optimization.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific field with experience in engineering operations including process development and manufacturing support.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to engage with suppliers and partners.
• Technical people leadership experience in medical devices or related industries.
• Experience in new product development and design optimization from development to commercialization.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing Supplier Development Engineering team; set clear priorities, drive accountability, and deliver against objectives.
• Elevate supplier capability and manufacturing readiness, aligning cross-functional teams for product development, scale-up, and commercialization.
• Own end-to-end engineering execution across the lifecycle from concept through validation, launch, and post-market optimization.
• Provide strategic technical leadership in supplier selection, qualifications, and risk mitigation.
• Drive successful NPI through supplier validation, design transfer, and integration into manufacturing operations.
• Champion Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and robust engineering practices through design/process reviews.
• Optimize supplier performance and cost via process improvements, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement.
• Proactively manage supplier risk, capacity and performance; lead audits and resolve quality issues.
