Redwood Materials is seeking a Senior Manager for Software Test & Validation to lead engineering teams responsible for SIL/HIL validation, manufacturing test tooling, and predictive maintenance analytics across hardware and software portfolios. You will architect real-time simulation plants and scalable test frameworks, bridging code, factory production, and grid reliability.

The role requires hands-on leadership and deep expertise in Python, Rust, C/C++, and DevOps for hardware-in-the-loop

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, with 10+ years in software validation, HIL simulation, manufacturing test, and fleet reliability analytics for complex hardware systems, and 5+ years leading engineering teams.
• SIL/HIL & Power Systems Mastery: Proven track record architecting real-time simulation environments (Typhoon HIL, Opal-RT, or dSPACE) for high-frequency power electronics and distributed system controllers.
• Manufacturing & Commissioning Software: Experience building automated factory test software (ICT/FCT/EOL), hardware bring-up utilities, and field commissioning frameworks across life cycles.
• Predictive Analytics & Software Toolchain: Proficiency in Python for test automation and fleet prognostics, plus working knowledge of Rust and C/C++.
• Data Infrastructure & DevOps: Designing automated CI/CD pipelines for hardware-in-the-loop targets, containerization (Docker), and scalable time-series telemetry.
• Hardware & Lab Fluency: Comfortable in high-voltage lab environments with test equipment and industrial protocols (CAN/CAN-FD, Ethernet, Modbus, SPI).

Responsibilities

• Direct architecture and scaling of SIL/HIL infrastructure across sub-microsecond power stages and site-level controllers.
• Oversee design of custom signal-conditioning hardware, fault-injection panels, and high-fidelity virtual plant models.
• Integrate automated SIL/HIL regression suites into containerized CI/CD pipelines, serving as the release gate for embedded software.
• Lead development of automated manufacturing test software and end-of-line test frameworks for multiple Redwood hardware lines.
• Build field commissioning tools and automations for site bring-up, and drive fleet health analytics for preventive/predictive maintenance.
• Architect health-monitoring models and anomaly detection for SoH trends and early fault detection.
