42dot Inc. in Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a Senior / Staff Test Automation Engineer to design, develop, and execute automated test frameworks for automotive ECUs and vECUs. You will own end-to-end automation across SIL, MIL, and HIL, building custom HIL testing stations.

The role requires Python and C/C++, Bash scripting, Docker, Git, and experience with Pytest/OpenHTF. You will collaborate with Firmware, Systems, and QA teams to deliver robust test content and integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years (Senior) or 8+ years (Staff) in test automation for embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash; C for debugging.
• Experience with modern pythonic test frameworks and Docker.

Responsabilités

• Automation Framework Development: Design, build, and maintain scalable automated test frameworks and scripts for embedded automotive systems using Python and C/C++.
• HIL Bench Generation: Configure and build custom physical HIL test benches, integrating real ECUs with simulated environment models.
• Requirements Investigation: Analyze specifications to author comprehensive automated test suites.
• Multi-Environment Execution: Run tests across SIL, MIL, and HIL setups.
• Analyze test captures and generate detailed engineering reports.
• Protocol Verification: Validate CAN/LIN/Ethernet/UDS/DoIP networks and diagnostics.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate test loops into Git-driven CI/CD pipelines.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Firmware, Systems Architecture, QA, and TPM teams with ASPICE traceability.
