As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering at CVS Health, you'll play a crucial role in building and delivering high-quality software that enhances customer experiences. You'll be involved in all phases of software engineering, from requirements analysis to deployment, while adhering to agile software development methodologies. Collaboration is key, as you'll work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet the evolving needs of our business.

As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will:

Oversee engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.

Shape long-term plans, technology adoption strategies, and innovation initiatives to drive digital transformation.

Provide technical leadership, guiding the team in best practices, optimizing development processes, and resolving technical challenges.

Partner with senior leadership to define and execute the engineering strategy and roadmap in alignment with business objectives.

Contribute to solution design and architecture, collaborating with product teams, architects, production support and senior engineers.

Engage with key stakeholders—including business leaders, clients, and partners—to gather requirements, clarify expectations, and align priorities.

Establish and enforces security and quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of high-performing, reliable solutions.

Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for enhancement, refining processes, and optimizing development workflows.

Lead one to a few teams of software engineers, providing mentorship, fostering professional growth, and ensuring team effectiveness.

Engage in code reviews to ensure best practices are followed and coach the team on how to adopt evolving best practices in our area.

You will be intellectually challenged to solve problems associated with large scale complex, structured and unstructured data, that will allow you to grow your technical skills and engineering expertise.

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of experience with designing and building software engineering solutions in cloud environments

7+ years of experience with APIs, microservices, and modern software patterns

5+ year(s) of soliciting complex requirements and managing relationships with key stakeholders

5+ year(s) of experience independently managing deliverables

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge in Azure architecture, commands and experience designing & optimizing software and data engineering patterns

Healthcare, Retail, Pharmacy and/or Insurance domain experience

Machine Learning and Generative AI experience at scale

Education

Bachelor degree from accredited university or equivalent work experience (HS diploma + 4 years relevant experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $213,210.00

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$106,605.00 - $213,210.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
