Position Summary

The Senior Engineering Manager will lead a team to develop web and API products, managing critical projects in the EV charging space. The role involves process improvement, ensuring high-quality output, prioritizing objectives, and effective communication across teams. The ideal candidate will empower engineers to excel.

Required Experience

• Proven experience shipping web applications and APIs.
• Deep knowledge of web architecture, tooling, stacks, and platform capabilities.
• Experience managing software engineering teams, fostering success, handling underperformance, and guiding career growth.
• Ability to recruit and retain qualified engineers.
• Skill in backlog ownership, prioritization, and task assignment.
• Excellent communication skills for clarity with managers, stakeholders, and teams.
• Understanding of agile practices, code review, and team structuring, with a desire to improve processes.
• Hands-on technical experience guiding technical vision and oversight.
• Project management skills for roadmap creation, team sizing, and time estimation.
• Proactive, effective delegation, and minimal oversight work ethic.
• B.S. in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Experience

• Knowledge of EV charging standards like OCPI.
• Experience with customer-facing, internal, and business applications.
• Familiarity with React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and GraphQL.

This role is primarily remote, with occasional travel. EVgo is headquartered in Los Angeles. Salary ranges from $160,000 to $180,000, depending on experience and location, with additional benefits including bonuses, stock units, health insurance, paid time off, parental leave, and 401(k).
