Position Summary
Senior Manager, Software Engineering oversees the design and development of software applications. Manages software engineers and leads large software projects. Has full responsibility over some LIMS/LabVantage components of Natera’s software stack. Preference for individuals capable of commuting to the office as needed in Austin or San Carlos to interact with Lab Operation teams and Labs, but ultimately the role is remote.

Primary Responsibilities

• Be a domain expert for projects implemented in LabVantage for your Business Unit(s).
• Manage a team of software and quality engineers.
• Lead large development projects with cross-functional teams.
• Manage project timelines and resources.
• Participate in software architecture, code development, and review.
• Contribute to engineering process improvements.
• Work with PHI data, requiring HIPAA/privacy training within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 2+ years in an equivalent role.
• 5+ years in software development.
• Experience managing employees.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Experience building scalable systems.
• Ability to manage teams developing with Java, Groovy, Kafka, REST, LabVantage.
• Experience in creating LIMS software for laboratory testing.
• Experience in regulated environments.

The salary range is $140,100—$175,100 USD, based on various factors. Location options include Austin, TX, and San Carlos, CA, with preference for commuting as needed.
