Walker Sands is seeking a Senior SEO Manager to serve as a strategic leader and manager of our clients’ SEO, GEO and content marketing programs. The key focus areas of this role are applying strategic and big-picture thinking to provide value to medium to large clients.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively develop and lead search engine optimization (SEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) strategies for multiple clients, working closely with both junior specialists and senior strategists
- Conduct and review keyword research as an input to clients’ SEO programs
- Work internally and within clients’ external project management systems to complete tasks
- Work with account manager to ensure both internal and external deadlines are being met, and that the team is aligned with both client and Walker Sands expectations
- Act as SEO lead and subject matter expert on client status calls
- Manage a small team of direct reports and interns – coach and delegate work to specialists and senior specialists and support their professional growth and development
- Provide ideas for efficiencies and improved results based on program workflow as well as client goals and needs
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to the account and client lead based on program trends, competitor analysis, and program results
- Explain complex concepts and deliver strategic recommendations with the clients’ business needs and all Walker Sands services in mind
- Articulate and explain SEO / GEO performance to various client stakeholders, from entry-level to C-suite.
- Lead and tailor strategy to client needs from onboarding and throughout the engagement
- Work, collaborate, and build strong relationships with a cross-functional agency team to support the execution of SEO and integrated marketing programs
- Commitment to constant learning and experimentation, including staying up-to-date with trends in SEO / GEO and the broader marketing industry
Qualifications:
- 3 to 7 years of full-time SEO experience, with demonstrated results preferred
- Google Analytics Certification preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively on a team
- Client-facing communication skills (written and verbal) on SEO and integrated digital marketing strategies, execution, and results
- Ability to craft client-ready communications that include thoughtful, clarifying questions when necessary
- Possess/develop a consultative mindset, proactively providing solutions and best practices to common problems and roadblocks
- Understand the uses and functionality of the platforms used by clients and be able to make proactive recommendations based on your clients’ problems
- Strong knowledge and understanding of SEO and marketing-specific metrics
- Strong client-facing skills and experience
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks across several clients with differing degrees of priority
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Ability to articulate SEO strategy at a high and granular level
- Meet all deadlines or communicate deadline adjustments as needed. Demonstrate responsibility over deadlines of account support staff
- We strive for salary range transparency in our hiring process. Base salary is only a part of the total rewards package – this role will also be eligible for a bonus based on company performance, as well as benefits. Below is the starting salary for this role:
- Starting Salary:$77,500 – $80,750 a year
- Placement on the salary scale will be determined by various factors, such as, but not limited to, relevant qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, education, business or organizational requirements and internal equity.
- Starting salaries are not inclusive of a full range of compensation for this role and are instead meant to reflect the expected beginning salary for a new hire. Merit-based increases can be earned after time in role.
