Job summary

Oracle Sovereign Cloud seeks a Senior Manager, Application Software Engineering to lead secure, scalable cloud software teams serving government workloads. You will set technical direction, oversee design, implementation, testing, and production readiness across multiple services.

You will partner with product, security, and operations teams to align solutions with mission priorities, enforce secure coding standards, drive reliability, and develop engineering talent across teams.

Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship with active US Government security clearance TS/SCI with Poly
9 years of software development experience; or bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field with 5 years of software development experience; or master's degree with 3 years; or doctorate with 1 year
6 years of experience with programming and/or scripting languages
4 years of experience with databases
Experience leading engineering teams through design, delivery, operations, and support of secure production software
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional execution, resolve complex technical issues, and improve engineering processes

Responsibilities

Lead multiple teams with measurable reliability, security, and performance outcomes.
Manage SDLC execution across design, implementation, testing, observability, and production readiness.
Lead teams through debugging and troubleshooting across multiple components, services, APIs, and functional areas.
Guide teams in application architecture, service design, API lifecycle management, interoperability, scalability, and performance optimization.
Collaborate with product, program, security, operations, customers, and partner teams to align application solutions with business and mission priorities.
Establish and enforce secure development practices, coding standards, operational objectives, and engineering best practices.
Lead maintenance, patching, SOP evolution, automation, monitoring, and reliability improvements for supported systems.
Drive team performance, coaching, hiring, promotion readiness, and career development across engineering teams
