Job summary

IDEAYA Biosciences, a precision oncology company in South San Francisco, seeks a Senior Manager of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to lead external reporting, technical accounting, and SOX compliance. This role reports to the Senior Director of Finance and oversees Form 10-K/10-Q, equity accounting, and related disclosures.

The position is based at our SSF headquarters and requires onsite presence four days per week.

Qualifications

• CPA license required; 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with Forms 10-K/10-Q, SEC reporting, and external audits.
• Biotech or life sciences public-company experience strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC disclosures, and SOX controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end preparation, review, and filing of Forms 10-K and 10-Q, and support other SEC filings.
• Own external reporting components including financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and disclosures.
• Establish and manage the quarterly/annual reporting calendar; coordinate inputs across functions.
• Prepare technical accounting memoranda and present conclusions to management/external auditors.
• Monitor new U.S. GAAP standards, SEC rules, and implement disclosure updates.
• Prepare materials for Audit Committee and Board regarding financial reporting and controls.
• Serve as primary liaison with external auditors for reviews and audits; support SOX.
• Oversee equity accounting and reporting, including stock-based compensation and EPS.
• Coordinate with Transfer Agent, HR, and legal on equity matters; strengthen controls.
