Overview

Senior Manager, Scheme and Bank Sponsors

The role focuses on developing and cementing Nuvei's partnerships with major payment schemes (e.g., Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Local Schemes) and related products and solutions in North America. The Senior Manager will coordinate with scheme requirements, product, compliance, and other internal teams to ensure timely execution, regulatory alignment, and competitive advantage. An additional focus is facilitating Gaming & Gambling registration with key US schemes to enable fast onboarding of merchants. The role requires strong payment industry knowledge, strategic vision, and the ability to work across cross-functional teams to implement scheme rules efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with major payment schemes and internal teams to develop and grow Nuvei’s partnerships in North America
• Coordinate scheme mandates, new releases, compliance requirements, and asset usage to enhance Nuvei’s value proposition
• Work with Product, Acquiring Development, Compliance, and UW to ensure projects meet local requirements and deadlines
• Facilitate Gaming & Gambling registration with key US schemes to support merchant onboarding
• Translate scheme rules and bulletins into implementable requirements for relevant personnel
• Regularly communicate scheme requirements to internal/external stakeholders across acquiring, technology, legal, pricing, operations, and sales teams
• Monitor and adapt to regulatory requirements from third parties, advising on policy changes and controls
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal teams and external partners, including other acquiring banks and schemes
• Produce scheme reports and management information with regular updates

Qualifications

• Experience in payments space; ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
• Ability to identify growth opportunities and pursue cost-reduction initiatives
• Strong integration of payments, payouts, risk, APMs, and product to increase market share and revenue
• Excellent communication skills and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of payment schemes rules, PSD2/PSRs and related regulatory requirements
• Capable of managing card scheme rules from identification to implementation
• Strong attention to detail and execution-focused mindset
• BA or equivalent in related field
