Job summary

Credit Acceptance is seeking an experienced Senior Data Scientist to lead predictive modeling efforts across credit risk, collections, and operations. You will design, deploy, and monitor models that influence strategic decisions while mentoring junior data scientists and promoting modern data science practices.

Remote work is available with occasional travel to the Southfield, Michigan office. Candidates should have 8+ years of predictive analytics experience and track record of production ML

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required.
• 8+ years of predictive modeling and analytics experience.
• 6+ years applying ML in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and statistical tools (R, SAS).
• Experience with cloud platforms and MLOps tools.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and deployment of predictive models for credit risk, collections, and operations.
• Integrate advanced ML techniques (e.g., ensemble models, deep learning, NLP).
• Mentor and support junior and peer-level data scientists.
• Promote adoption of modern data science tools and platforms.
• Present insights to senior and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive experimentation with emerging techniques (e.g., causal inference, GenAI).
