Job summary

Morristown & Morris Township Library is seeking a full-time Head of Reference and Adult Services. This role manages librarians and readers' advisers, oversees outreach, programming, and technology support, and guides adult collections and website development.

The candidate should have an MLS/MLIS, strong leadership, and proven experience in public library Reference or Adult Services, with Spanish a plus. The library is in Morristown’s historic downtown, offering a collaborative work environment

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years' experience in the Reference or Adult Services Department of a public library.
• Two to five years of management experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with ILS and room reservation systems; web editing beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Reference and Adult Services Department and staff.
• Direct adult collection development, reference and database services, and the library website.
• Collaborate on outreach, programming, and technology initiatives.
• Work with the Library's Technology Specialist on projects.
