Job summary

The Morristown & Morris Township Library is hiring a FT Head of Reference and Adult Services in Morristown, NJ. The role supervises three full-time and three part-time reference librarians and four part-time Reader’s Advisors, guiding outreach, programming, reference and tech help, and collection development.

Applicants should hold an MLS/MLIS, have 5+ years in Reference or Adult Services, 2-5 years in management, and strong communication skills. Spanish is a plus; NJ residency is required.

Qualifications

• MLS or MLIS degree required.
• Minimum five years in Reference/Adult Services in a public library.
• Two to five years of management experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage three full-time and three part-time reference librarians and four part-time reader’s advisors.
• Oversee adult collection development, reference and database services, and the Library website.
• Lead outreach, public programming, technology help and reader’s advisory.
• Collaborate with Technology Specialist on projects and implement new technologies.
