Job summary

Apex Group in the United States seeks a Manager – Fund Accounting Private Equity (VP level) to lead a client-servicing team and act as an extension of the client’s finance organization.

Responsibilities include fund accounting, cash forecasting, and coordinating audits; demanding private equity experience and strong communication are essential. This is a senior, on-site role with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required.
• 6-10 years of professional experience (A mix of private and audit preferred).
• Minimum 3-6 years of direct Private Equity experience (Hedge Funds do not count as relevant experience).
• CPA Preferred.
• Strong Fund and Partner accounting knowledge.
• Credit funds exposure.
• Portfolio accounting, complex investment structures preferred.
• Supervisory experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly motivated with ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work papers for investment activity, management fee calculations, IRR calculations, and waterfall calculations.
• Review fund reimbursable expenses and prepare capital calls and distributions; provide investor notices.
• Prepare fund financial statements with footnotes and supporting schedules; partner allocations and capital accounts.
• Coordinate audits (SSAE 16 and fund audits) and support tax compliance/reports.
• Cash forecasting and budgeting; bank and brokerage reconciliations; ad hoc analyses.
• Track portfolio company transactions and complex investment structures; calculate investment IRR.
• Respond to investor and partner queries (audit confirmations, cash flow, IRR).
