Job summary

ERLPhase Power Technologies in Houston seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to oversee end-to-end operations and drive efficiency across production planning, quality assurance, and process optimization. You will coordinate with local and remote teams to achieve on-time delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering and 8+ years in manufacturing/quality, with experience in EMS, PCB processes, LabVIEW/TestStand, IPC-A-610,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing/production/quality with supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations, PCB manufacturing and product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with EMS providers, vendors and manufacturing partners.
  • Exposure to automated test systems, circuit board inspection, in-circuit/ offline programming.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations at the Houston facility.
  • Ensure on-time delivery while upholding safety, quality and reliability.
  • Coordinate materials and resources to meet targets with minimal inventory.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, supply chain and quality teams.
  • Lead continuous improvement focusing on productivity, quality, waste reduction and cost efficiency.
  • Support ISO initiatives, training, and internal audits across sites.
  • Maintain manufacturing systems, documentation, and preventive maintenance.

Job description

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for working with the local and remote teams to oversee end-to-end manufacturing operations, production planning, quality assurance, process optimization, vendor/materials coordination, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, technical expertise in electronic manufacturing and power system products, and the ability to drive efficiency, quality, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, develop and implement manufacturing and operational strategies aligned with organizational goals and business objectives at our Houston facility.
  • Ensure on-time delivery of products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and reliability.
  • Ensure availability of materials, components, and production resources required to meet manufacturing targets, while maintaining a minimal inventory footprint.
  • Collaborate with engineering, R&D, supply chain, and quality teams to support new product introduction and process improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, waste reduction, and operational excellence, including optimal utilisation of manpower, equipment, and manufacturing resources to maintain competitiveness and cost efficiency.
  • Provide administrative and operational support with respect to local and multi-facility interactions, local regulatory and health & safety concerns, and corporate ISO initiatives, ISO management systems, including all training and auditing as required.
  • Maintain manufacturing systems, documentation, operational records, and equipment and fixturing, including preventative maintenance and calibration.

Position: Manufacturing Engineer

Key Skills Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, and/or quality environment, including management or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of production operations, quality systems, PCB manufacturing and inspection processes & product development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with design engineering teams, EMS providers, vendors, and manufacturing partners, supporting automated test systems, circuit board inspection, in-circuit and offline programming, and various manufacturing metrics and KPIs.
  • Direct experience in NI LabVIEW & TestStand and/or IPC-A-610 inspection standards are considered to be an asset.
  • A strong grasp of administrative operations, including facility, infrastructure, regulatory and quality aspects of the organization.
  • Experience in the power systems or protection relay industry preferred.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems required.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP and inventory/production management tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative manufacturing environment.
