Job summary

Expedia Group in Austin seeks a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineer for the Lodging Connectivity - Partner Developer Experience team. You will lead multiple engineering groups, design and operate external APIs and partner tools, and contribute production code while mentoring others.

You will drive technical direction, ensure high standards, and guide AI-enabled solutions into production, balancing speed, quality, and platform health across domains.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant professional experience and 3+ years of people management.
• Experience owning multi-service or domain-level systems in production.
• Strong background in microservices, API design, and data modeling.
• Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real products.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple software engineering teams designing, building, and operating Lodging Connectivity services and APIs.
• Spend ~50% of time on hands-on software design, development, and delivery.
• Personally design systems, contribute production code, and own delivery outcomes.
• Define technical direction across connectivity domains and external partner integrations.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, observability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with product, business, and operations to road-map requirements.
• Mentor engineers and engineering managers, fostering ownership and excellence.
