Job summary

Building Bridges Across the River seeks a Manager of Institutional Giving to advance its mission in Ward 7 and 8. You will lead grant writing, reporting, and donor relations within a collaborative Development team based in Washington, DC.

The role oversees federal awards, budgets, and funding prospects, ensuring compliance and timely deliverables while partnering with program and leadership staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of direct fundraising experience in nonprofits.
• Strong writing and verbal communication; can articulate mission to diverse audiences.
• Self-motivated team player with exceptional customer service.
• Excellent multitasking and project management skills.
• Experience with corporate, foundation, and government supporters.
• Proficient with donor databases and MS Office; able to learn new systems.

Responsibilities

• Write grant and sponsorship proposals, renewals, reports, and letters of inquiry.
• Monitor federal grants for compliance and submit quarterly/annual reports.
• Track fundraising progress and develop budgets with program staff.
• Research institutional prospects and maintain donor relationships.
• Represent Building Bridges to partners and coordinate cultivation events.
• Communicate organization mission effectively to participants and supporters.
