Job summary

Future Caucus is seeking a Development Manager to own institutional grants from prospect research through reporting, aligning funding with priorities and ensuring funder compliance. This role is essential for sustaining annual fundraising goals above $6MM and requires exceptional writing and meticulous operations.

Based in Washington, DC, the Hybrid role partners with the Senior Director of Strategic Growth & Impact to grow funding, manage a diverse portfolio, and scale the fundraising operation

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a grant-writing/management role with multi-year, six- to seven-figure grants.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling skills; ability to craft donor-focused materials with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and coordinate cross-team input.
• Proven ability to conduct independent donor research using tools like Impala, iWave, or Guidestar.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day grant operations, including grants calendar and internal coordination for deliverables.
• Lead preparation, writing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals and reports.
• Cultivate new institutional funders through proactive prospecting and market intelligence.
• Support renewal and expansion of existing institutional funding relationships to increase gift size and multi-year commitments.
• Collaborate with senior leadership on donor relationship management and multi-year opportunities.
• Analyze funding pipeline and portfolio to surface opportunities, risks, and trends.
