Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, is seeking a Senior Manager for Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Industrial Controls in Louisville, KY. You will lead the vision for industrial controls engineering, standardize practices, and drive automation projects across multiple plants.

You will mentor a team of engineers, manage complex projects, and collaborate with suppliers and operations to ensure safety, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in industrial controls engineering, PLC-based automation, and equipment integration.
• Technical degree in Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• Deep expertise in PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial networking; familiarity with major platforms.
• Experience with OEMs, system integrators, and suppliers in industrial automation.
• Proven track record in large-scale controls projects: specification, supplier oversight, commissioning, debugging, qualification.
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to explain technical concepts clearly.
• Travel required domestically and internationally (20–30%).

Responsibilities

• Lead and strategize the vision for industrial controls engineering across manufacturing.
• Oversee electrical controls and automation projects: delivery, budget, quality.
• Serve as SME in controls, PLC/HMI, electrical architectures, networking, machine safety.
• Mentor and develop a team of engineers for technical growth and project execution.
• Standardize controls design practices and validation across sites.
• Collaborate with project teams, plant operations, suppliers and leadership.
