Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, in Louisville, KY, seeks a Senior Manager, Advanced Manufacturing Engineering – Industrial Controls to lead controls standardization and automation across our plants. You will drive the vision for industrial controls engineering, align with manufacturing objectives, and partner with operations to deliver robust solutions.

You will manage complex projects, guide PLC/HMI architectures, electrical systems, and safety practices while mentoring a team of engineers.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in industrial controls engineering with emphasis on electrical systems and manufacturing equipment integration.
• Technical degree in Engineering or related field; advanced degrees preferred.
• Deep expertise in PLC, HMI, VFD, servo, and industrial networking systems; experience with Rockwell/Siemens environments.
• Experience with OEMs, system integrators, and suppliers in industrial automation projects.
• Proven track record managing large-scale controls and automation projects from spec to commissioning.
• Excellent communication skills and willingness to travel 20–30%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vision for industrial controls engineering aligned with GE Appliances' manufacturing goals.
• Oversee electrical controls and automation projects, ensuring timely delivery and budget adherence.
• Drive standardization of PLC/HMI, electrical architectures, networking, and machine safety.
• Mentor and develop a team of engineers to foster growth and project excellence.
• Collaborate with project teams, plant operations, suppliers, and leadership to implement controls solutions.
• Apply Lean and Human Organizational Performance (HOP) to improve manufacturing processes with safety emphasis.
• Evaluate emerging controls technologies and secure industrial network architectures.
