Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager of Data Center Operations to lead a nationwide team overseeing Field Technician contractors and to manage relationships with system integrators and large providers for new deployments and ongoing operations.

You will coordinate inventory control, ensure 24x7 staffing, and drive improvements in training and processes across hyperscale pods. This role requires experience guiding teams through changes and a strong focus on reliability and SLA

Qualifications

• 10 years relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, MIS, another related field, or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience working with data center vendors and the data center environment.
• Track record of solid employee development and engagement.
• Drive for process improvement.
• Experience guiding teams through process changes and realignments.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team supervising Field Technician contractors in hyperscale pods across the United States.
• Build relationships with third-party system integrators and oversee deployment/maintenance work.
• Partner with large data center providers for new deployments and ongoing operations.
• Oversee inventory control of local spare parts and coordinate RMAs for defects.
• Coordinate with Compliance on access lists for assigned data centers.
• Maintain 24x7 staffing and escalation paths for incidents and SLA adherence.
• Evaluate and update training curriculum for hyperscale pods.
• Coordinate staffing of Field Technicians at hyperscale pods.
