Job summary

Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) seeks a Senior Manager in General & Technical Accounting for the LIRR. Based in Jamaica, Queens, the role oversees monthly closes, cost allocations, and interagency reconciliations in a large multi-agency environment.

Requires strong GASB/FASB knowledge and leadership capabilities. Responsibilities include developing overhead rates, coordinating with OMB, and managing external audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Accounting & Finance.
• Minimum 6 years in Accounting or Audit.
• Minimum 3 years in a managerial and/or leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Select, develop, and motivate personnel within the department; provide coaching and counseling.
• Direct and oversee inter-agency allocations and methodologies for allocations and financial reporting.
• Manage annual overhead calculations and rates for force account labor and related costs; ensure consistency across MTA agencies.
