MTA Headquarters in Jamaica, NY seeks a Senior Accounting Analyst to support the General and Technical Accounting functions. The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting for the Long Island Rail Road statements and related disclosures.

The incumbent will work with PeopleSoft systems, prepare reports, and assist with audits, accruals, and GASB considerations. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.

Formación

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field.
• A minimum of four years of accounting, finance, or similar experience, including database management and reporting, along with financial analysis and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of accounting systems and procedures (e.g., PeopleSoft).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel with pivot tables and VLOOKUP, Access, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent quantitative, analytic, and deductive reasoning capabilities.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in the month-end and annual close; prepare general ledger analyses and journal entries.
• Interface data with PeopleSoft; ensure GL close data is accurate and available.
• Reconcile intercompany accounts and analyze claims activity.
• Prepare monthly rental revenue and reconcile with Yardi reports.
• Prepare weekly payroll journal entries and reconciliations.
• Create and run PeopleSoft queries for monthly close and analysis.
• Support external audits and year-end accruals.
