Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking an Executive Protection Senior Manager to lead the corporate security program, reporting to the Senior Director, Security Intelligence. You will act as a senior technical authority to design, integrate, and optimize security programs across the enterprise.

The role emphasizes leadership development, strategic risk management, and driving high‑performing teams while ensuring safe facilities, critical assets, and compliant operations across sites in California.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Minimum 10 years in corporate security and employee safety with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• At least 7 years in Executive Protection, Law Enforcement, Physical Security Management or Project Management.
• Preferred certifications: ATAP CTM, ASIS PSP, ASIS CPP or equivalent, or ability to obtain within one year.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, team leadership, and communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of Corporate Security and Executive Protection typically acquired through advanced education and substantial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the Executive Protection Program, aligning with protection goals and strategy.
• Design and implement travel security protocols, coordinating secure transportation logistics, route planning, and contingencies.
• Provide investigative support for workplace violence, threat intelligence, IT Security, Corporate Compliance, or Privacy investigations.
• Liaison with law enforcement, military, emergency responders, and industry peers.
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and budgets for security operations and track expenses within budget.
• Manage audits of Enterprise sites for compliance with audit guidelines.
• Summarize recommendations from site audits.
• Assist in developing safety and emergency response programs for the area.
• Office-based work with up to 20% travel; may involve facilities maintenance or security tasks.
