Job summary

Blue Shield of California is seeking a Corporate Security Consultant to lead the SOC/SFC operations for the Oakland campus and adjacent sites. You will integrate threat intelligence, manage incidents, and coordinate with Legal, HR, and Compliance to protect people, facilities, and assets.

You will influence strategic security programs, develop KPIs, and guide cross-functional teams through complex events, including crisis response and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Cybersecurity, Intelligence Studies, Security and Risk Analysis or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in corporate security, intelligence, or security operations.
• Experience managing or supporting a SOC/SFC.
• Strong experience with threat intelligence platforms and methodologies.
• Familiarity with CCURE, VMS, intrusion detection.
• Familiarity with Dataminr, Everbridge, AlertMedia, Horizon, Miir3.
• Certifications such as CPP, PSP, CISSP, or GCTI are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage daily operations of the SOC and SFC, aligning with Facilities, Legal, and Compliance.
• Develop detection strategies, incident response protocols, and KPIs.
• Collaborate with Threat Intelligence, HR, Legal, Cybersecurity, and Compliance to investigate incidents.
• Partner with Business Resilience Team for emergency preparedness programs.
• Oversee physical security systems with technology teams.
• Manage SOC vendor relationships, budget, and contracts.
• Lead cross-functional projects and liaise with external agencies.
• Use data and KPIs to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
• Provide guidance and training to foster security awareness.
• Communicate with executives and stakeholders through briefings and reports.
• Lead complex projects and coach team members.
• Apply agile methodologies and conduct root cause analysis.
