Job summary

Hamilton Barnes partners with a leading AI cloud infrastructure provider to recruit a Senior Manager – Electrical Engineering. The role leads the electrical discipline across the portfolio, setting standards, signing off designs, and ensuring power system integrity for hyperscale data center projects.

You will manage a team of engineers, establish standards, review designs, and liaise with manufacturing, QA/QC, and customers. Texas P.Eng and 10+ years LV power experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• P.Eng. registration in Texas required.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in low voltage power systems and switchgear.

Responsibilities

• Act as electrical engineering discipline lead and technical authority for LV systems and power distribution equipment across all projects.
• Manage a team of senior, intermediate and junior electrical engineers.
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards, design criteria and technical specifications; provide final review and approvals.
• Oversee design and validation of LV electrical systems for equipment including switchboards, generators and power distribution products.
• Serve as primary interface between engineering, manufacturing, QA/QC, project management and external stakeholders.
• Identify technical risks and provide mitigation strategies and executive-level recommendations.

Our client is a leading AI Cloud Service Provider, delivering large-scale GPU clusters for AI training and inference through a vertically integrated platform of grid-connected land and 100% renewable-powered data centers across the US and Canada.

As they scale their portfolio of capital projects, they're looking for a Senior Manager – Electrical Engineering to become the electrical discipline lead and senior technical authority across the business, reporting directly to the VP of Engineering.

This is a genuine step up for someone ready to own electrical strategy end to end: you'll set the standards, sign off the designs, and be the final word on power system integrity across every project in the portfolio, rather than sitting several layers down from that decision. Responsibilities:

• Act as electrical engineering discipline lead and technical authority for low voltage systems and power distribution equipment, and their integration across all projects
• Manage a team of senior, intermediate and junior electrical engineers, directly or functionally
• Establish and maintain electrical engineering standards, design criteria and technical specifications, and provide final review and approval of designs and deliverables
• Oversee design and validation of low voltage electrical systems for custom-manufactured equipment, including switchboards, generators and power distribution products
• Act as the primary electrical interface between engineering, manufacturing, QA/QC, project management and external stakeholders, including customers
• Identify technical risks in electrical systems and provide mitigation strategies and executive-level recommendations to senior leadership

Skills/Must have:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
• P.Eng. registration in Texas
• 10+ years' progressive experience in low voltage power systems, switchgear/switchboards and generator integration within industrial, manufacturing or data center environments
• Proven track record as electrical discipline lead or senior technical authority on complex projects
• In-depth knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, UL and other applicable electrical codes and standards
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills; data center or mission-critical facilities experience highly desirable
• Up to 45% annual bonus
