Job summary

SR2 seeks an Electrical Engineering Manager / Team Lead to own electrical engineering across a growing hyperscale data center portfolio. You will guide design, utility interface, construction, commissioning and energization with speed and safety in mind.

Lead electrical distribution from utility through to rack, shape reference designs, and drive decisions on MV/HV distribution, switchgear, UPS topology and busway.

Qualifications

• Significant electrical engineering experience within data centers, mission-critical infrastructure or heavy industrial construction.
• Experience leading electrical engineering across major construction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power system design.
• Proven ability to review and challenge protection and coordination studies.
• Hands-on experience with energization, commissioning and utility coordination.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical distribution from the utility interface through to the rack.
• Set, standardise and continuously improve the electrical reference design.
• Lead technical decisions covering MV/HV distribution, switchgear, UPS topology and busway.
• Drive designs that can be replicated across a rapidly scaling portfolio.
• Make critical field engineering decisions while maintaining speed and safety.
• Own energization readiness and sequencing across sites.
• Work directly with utilities, consultants, contractors and AHJs.
• Critically review short-circuit, protection and arc-flash studies.
• Capture lessons from live projects and feed them back into future designs.
• Help build electrical infrastructure capable of supporting data center capacity at enormous scale.

Compensation: $300K-$365K + Equity

Employment: Full-time

SR2 is partnering with an exciting, high-growth AI infrastructure client to find an Electrical Engineering Manager / Team Lead who can own electrical engineering across a rapidly expanding portfolio of hyperscale data center developments.

This is a senior, hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who knows how to take complex electrical infrastructure from design and utility interface through construction, commissioning and energization - while operating at exceptional pace.

What you'll own:

• Own electrical distribution from the utility interface through to the rack.
• Set, standardise and continuously improve the electrical reference design.
• Lead technical decisions covering MV/HV distribution, switchgear, UPS topology and busway.
• Drive designs that can be replicated across a rapidly scaling portfolio.

• Capture lessons from live projects and feed them back into future reference designs.
• Help build electrical infrastructure capable of supporting data center capacity at enormous scale.

What we're looking for:

• Significant electrical engineering experience within data centers, mission-critical infrastructure or heavy industrial construction.
• Experience leading electrical engineering across major construction programmes.
• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems and power system design.
• Proven ability to review and challenge protection and coordination studies.
• Hands-on experience with energization, commissioning and utility coordination.
• Confidence making engineering decisions in fast-moving construction environments.
• Strong understanding of switchgear, UPS systems, busway and electrical distribution.
• Ability to balance delivery speed, reliability and electrical safety.

Particularly valuable experience:

• PE licence.
• Medium-voltage and high-voltage distribution.
• Utility interconnection.
• Hyperscale or large-scale data center programmes.
