Job summary

A leading transformer manufacturing company in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a Senior Manager, Consolidation & Financial Reporting. Role Overview

Virginia Transformer is seeking a Senior Manager, Consolidation & Financial Reporting to lead the consolidation of financial results across a complex, multi-entity, multi-location organization. This role is responsible for consolidating all company books, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual P&L statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

This is a highly visible role partnering closely with the Chief Accounting Officer, executive leadership, FP&A, external auditors, and plant finance teams. The ideal candidate brings deep technical accounting expertise, strong consolidation experience, and the ability to operate in a fast-growing, manufacturing-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the consolidation of all legal entities, including domestic and international operations
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of intercompany eliminations, currency translation, and consolidation entries
• Own the financial close process for consolidation activities and drive continuous improvement in close timelines

Technical Accounting & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Research, interpret, and implement new accounting standards as applicable
• Support preparation of financial statements for external audits, lenders, and other stakeholders
• Partner with external auditors and manage audit-related requests tied to consolidation and reporting

Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

• Partner closely with:
• Chief Accounting Officer
• FP&A and operational finance teams
• Plant controllers and international finance leaders
• Provide guidance and oversight to accounting teams related to consolidation, reporting, and reconciliations
• Act as a subject matter expert on consolidation, intercompany accounting, and financial statement presentation

Process Improvement & Systems

• Drive process standardization and automation across consolidation and reporting activities
• Leverage ERP and consolidation tools to improve data integrity, reporting accuracy, and efficiency
• Identify and implement best practices in financial reporting and close management

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with significant focus on financial consolidation and reporting
• Strong experience preparing consolidated P&L, balance sheets, and financial statements
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP
• Experience working in a multi-entity, multi-location organization
• Proven ability to partner with senior leadership and external auditors
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ownership mindset

Preferred

• CPA or equivalent professional certification
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or capital equipment environments
• Exposure to international accounting and foreign subsidiaries
• Prior experience in a high-growth or complex operational environment
