Agency Mission

MTA Construction & Development (C&D) is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of all capital construction projects across the MTA region. Through centralized oversight and management of the MTA’s $68.4 billion Capital Program, C&D ensures the efficient delivery of critical infrastructure projects that support the region’s vast transportation network. Telework

This position is eligible for telework, which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Summary

The Commercial Manager collaborates with other MTA C&D Commercial Manager(s) to implement effective commercial and change management best practices within programs/projects.

Responsibilities

Engages in projects as requested during the planning and delivery phases of the project’s lifecycle.

Collaborates with other Agency owners’ business group Commercial Managers as requested to ensure enterprise-wide alignment and delivery of commercial management services.

Supports Construction Management and Program Management engagements by assisting with commercial management issues.

Collaborates with Agency owners and project management regarding strategy, preparing requests for qualification/proposal solicitations (RFQs, RFPs and interviews) while maintaining a relationship(s) with agency owner partners.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.

Must have a minimum of six (7) years of related experience.

Must possess excellent team-building, listening, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.

Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).

Additional Information:

Final salary is determined by experience, skill set, and alignment with compensation practices. The posted range reflects expected compensation and may be updated as market or business needs evolve.
