Job summary

PenFed Credit Union is seeking a Sr. Manager, Collections Strategy to provide strategic and operational leadership for the organization’s collection and recovery capabilities at our San Antonio Service Center.

The role focuses on optimizing decision strategies, technology, reporting, and regulatory compliance to improve delinquency and loss outcomes. Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field is required.
• 8+ years in Collections in a financial institution are required.
• 4+ years in collections strategy required.
• 2+ years of people management experience required.
• 1+ years’ experience with Tableau and SQL and relational databases required.
• 2+ years’ experience analyzing large data sets while interpreting reports is highly preferred.
• Experience with post-charge off asset recovery management highly preferred.
• Experience with credit risk management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize collection strategies across delinquent products.
• Design, monitor, and optimize end-to-end collection and recovery paths.
• Prioritize and evaluate A/B testing for risk segmentation and contact strategies.
• Develop and communicate reporting materials covering recovery performance and forecasting models.
• Collaborate to implement, refine, and streamline collection strategies within FICO Decision Modeler.
• Monitor and optimize messaging campaigns within the collection strategy.
• Ensure compliance with FDCPA, TCPA, FCRA, CFPA, SCRA, bankruptcy requirements, and UDAAP standards.
• Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
