Job summary

Illumia in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Senior Manager to lead a team of developers and QA engineers delivering scalable, cloud-native software with strong ownership of production systems and reliable operations.

You will drive modern engineering practices across AWS-based architectures, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate with product, architecture, and operations teams to ensure quality, security, and timely deployments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS or related field.
• 8+ years software development and platform engineering.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams.
• Experience with .NET/C#, distributed architectures.
• Experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of reliability, production support, and incident management.
• Experience designing and supporting API-driven and integration-heavy systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of scalable services and applications built with .NET (C#) and deployed in AWS environments.
• Drive adoption of modern engineering practices across cloud-native architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, system performance, and operational reliability.
• Own production health, uptime, and system reliability for supported applications.
• Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and post-incident improvements.
• Drive improvements in monitoring, alerting, and observability across systems.
• Guide system design and technical decisions aligned with architectural standards.
• Strengthen engineering ownership of system quality, reliability, and production outcomes.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support deployments, integrations, and customer environments.
• Promote adoption of AI-assisted tools to improve engineering productivity, system quality, and operational efficiency.
• Ensure strong on-call practices and operational readiness across the team.
