Job summary

Breslow Starling is seeking a senior accounting leader to oversee multiple CAS engagements, advise clients on complex accounting matters, and manage senior engagement teams. The role includes coaching managers, monitoring budgets and scope, and driving standardization and automation across engagements.

You will collaborate with Tax, Advisory, Payroll, Finance/FP&A, and client stakeholders while supporting business development and ensuring high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Eight or more years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership of complex engagements and teams.
  • Strong technical accounting, client service, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience designing scalable accounting processes and reporting.
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Public accounting, outsourced accounting, or professional services experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple CAS engagements, ensuring accurate, timely, and consistent deliverables.
  • Advise clients on complex accounting matters, process design, financial reporting, and operational improvements.
  • Serve as a senior client contact and proactively manage expectations, risks, and escalations.
  • Coach and develop managers, supervisors, and engagement teams.
  • Monitor engagement performance, including budgets, margins, scope, deadlines, and staffing needs.
  • Promote standardization, technology adoption, automation, and continuous improvement.
  • Support business development through engagement scoping, proposals, and service expansion.
  • Collaborate with Tax, Advisory, Payroll, Finance/FP&A, and client stakeholders.

Work Environment

This position may be office-based, hybrid, or remote based on business and client needs. Travel of up to 25% may be required.
