  • Review prepaid and accrual schedules.
  • Review the month‑end close process.
  • Review and troubleshoot any issues with bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Review schedules for external auditor requests.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of staff and interns within our mentorship program.
  • Lead the client onboarding process, including developing financial reports, chart of accounts, and initial revisions.
  • Analyze financial results and make recommendations to client management.
  • Reconcile, review and post monthly payroll entries.
  • Review annual 1099 forms and annual/quarterly payroll tax returns.
  • Review business personal property tax returns.
  • Review income tax returns for small businesses and their owners.
  • Work as a team with the client manager to coordinate multiple service deliverables and set timelines for accounting, attest, and tax compliance as a holistic service provider.
  • Generate invoices for client services for partner review.
  • Start to develop new business relationships with potential clients and company personnel to grow the clientele base and work to foster ongoing efforts to obtain additional opportunities for the firm.
Requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant experience, specifically external client‑facing services.
  • Prior experience in training and technical review of staff work.
  • Experience with various versions of QuickBooks Desktop and Online.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and meet tight monthly deadlines.
  • Strong judgment skills and ability to know when to elevate an issue to the partner on a client account.
Preferred
  • Active CPA License or EA
  • Experience with business clients $1‑$15+ million in revenue.
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll tax requirements.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel (including pivot and VLOOKUP).
  • Industry knowledge for construction/contractors, real estate, and/or professional services.
  • Motivated to be an advisor to a variety of business clients with varying skill levels.
  • Seeking opportunities to guide and foster team members towards their technical and career goals.
