Job summary

Ball Corporation seeks a Manager, Automation and Support Systems to lead a team of controls engineers in standardizing PLC hardware/software and regional line control. You will drive reliability, implement line simulation software, and collaborate with production and engineering to improve processes across plants.

This role requires extensive electrical engineering experience in manufacturing, the ability to manage contractors, and travel up to 60% across North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or related field preferred
• Electrical experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Ability to manage contractors
• Worked extensively in an industrial electrical engineering environment
• Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical support equipment
• Strong interpersonal skills, including influencing, facilitation and negotiation

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Controls Engineers for regional line control implementation and line simulation software.
• Ensure use of appropriate and consistent technologies; maintain new technologies system-wide as required.
• Standardize and improve reliability of facility support equipment including air compressors, dryers, RTOs, ovens and vision systems.
• Develop, implement and maintain PLC hardware and software standards for new and existing sites.
• Ensure infrastructure is effective across regional facilities.
• Drive the team to maximize asset utilization across the plant network and provide training to site personnel.
