Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas is seeking a senior leader to manage an Application Development team responsible for enterprise health insurance applications. You will guide design, development, and support across enrollment, claims, provider networks, and member portals in a dynamic health insurance environment.

The role partners with business units, product teams, and IT leadership to deliver secure, scalable solutions that enhance member and provider experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, IS, or related field preferred.
• Requires 10+ years in IT; 7+ in App Development; 3+ in supervision.
• Healthcare IT experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full SDLC for health insurance systems and portals.
• Lead application modernization, cloud migration, and microservices refactor.
• Collaborate with business/product teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure adherence to HIPAA, HITRUST, and security standards.
• Drive DevOps, Agile delivery, and best-practice coding standards.
• Manage resources, timelines, and development budgets.
• Evaluate new tools and architectures to optimize performance.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, data, and cybersecurity teams.
