Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Senior Manager of SW Tools Development to lead an org focused on AI-powered tools and the test infrastructure that engineering teams rely on daily. You will manage several engineering teams, mentor managers and engineers, and own a roadmap that balances AI capabilities with robust pipelines and automation.

You will demo capabilities to internal stakeholders, drive adoption, and ensure tools are secure and scalable before production.

Qualifications

6-8+ years in software engineering or applied AI with leadership of managers or multiple teams.
Strong hands-on knowledge of LLMs and applied AI.
Experience designing and shipping production AI agents or automation systems.
Experience with test infrastructure and data pipeline design.
Proven ability to align stakeholders and drive adoption across teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow multiple engineering teams spanning AI-powered tools/agents and test infrastructure, data pipelines, and process automation.
Set a unified, prioritized roadmap balancing AI capabilities with test infrastructure and automation needs.
Design and enforce architecture, quality gates, and release processes for validated, secure tools before production.
Partner cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and leadership to align priorities and drive tool adoption.
Demo and present tools to internal customers, expanding the portfolio of tools.
Build and improve planning, release management, QA, and reporting processes for scalable tool shipping.
