Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Manager of Software Engineering in the Connected Commerce team in Plano, TX. You will lead multiple technical teams, coach engineers, and influence cross-functional planning and budgeting to enhance operations and technology delivery.

You will drive platform modernization, champion best practices for microservices, streaming, and AI-enabled development, and ensure secure, scalable solutions across the enterprise.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• Minimum 2+ years leading a Software Engineering team.
• 8+ years hands-on experience in system design, development, testing, and reliability.
• Experience building highly scalable Java-based microservices.
• Hands-on cloud-native experience on AWS with EKS, ECS/Fargate and S3.
• Hands-on experience with Kafka, Kinesis, and Flink for near real-time processing.
• Advanced understanding of Agile, CI/CD, resiliency, and security best practices.
• Proficiency with Git, Bitbucket, or SVN as source control.
• Experience leading multi-team adoption of AI-assisted development and governance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee platform strategy and modernization (cloud-first, data-first).
• Promote engineering best practices for streams, microservices, API design, CI/CD.
• Lead design of high-throughput, low-latency apps with ML architectures on AWS.
• Design and review secure, scalable microservices and code quality.
• Create architecture/design artifacts for complex platform components.
• Develop production-grade code and drive SDLC improvements.
• Architect near real-time streaming with Kafka, Kinesis and Flink.
• Set enterprise-wide AI-assisted engineering expectations and governance.
• Leverage SDLC tools to improve efficiency and reuse firm tech assets.
