Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Manager, AI Deployment to lead model performance and on-vehicle inference for autonomous driving. You’ll guide a team of engineering leaders across model optimization, GPU systems, and runtime integration.

You will set performance goals, establish latency budgets, and build benchmarking practices to diagnose regressions and validate improvements, balancing latency, memory, throughput, and power.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of ML systems, optimization, GPUs, or autonomous driving.
• 5+ years of people leadership including managers.
• Experience shipping production ML inference on edge hardware or robotics.
• Strong understanding of model performance factors: architecture, tensors, memory, kernels, scheduling, runtime, hardware utilization.
• Hands-on with PyTorch, CUDA, C++, Python, TensorRT, profiling tools.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, roadmap, and operating plan for AI model performance and inference quality.
• Establish performance budgets for latency, throughput, memory, GPU utilization, power, and parity.
• Lead investigations into performance bottlenecks across model architecture, operators, kernels, memory movement, and runtime behavior.
• Establish repeatable benchmarking and profiling practices across environments.
• Guide optimization through architecture changes, kernel improvements, memory optimization, and hardware-aware execution.
• Build performance dashboards, regression detection, benchmarking automation, and root-cause diagnostics.
• Partner with cross-functional teams including Embodied AI, model development, GPU kernel, runtime, and vehicle integration.
• Influence model design by translating profiling results into recommendations for architects and researchers.
• Represent AI Deployment in architecture reviews and senior leadership discussions.
• Build and lead an inclusive, high-performing organization through hiring and coaching.
