Job summary

The role is remote, with in-person requirements near Mountain View if applicable; the compensation range reflects market norms for senior ML researchers in the US.

Qualifications

• PhD in Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of AI/ML research and applied development.
• Deep expertise in modern ML architectures (transformers, generative AI, multimodal).
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Research, design, and prototype advanced ML approaches to advance autonomous driving.
• Influence technical roadmaps and ML priorities aligned with company objectives.
• Provide technical mentorship and vision.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering groups to foster ML innovation.
• Represent GM externally through publications, patents, and top conferences.
