Job summary

Pendo is seeking a Senior Manager, Engineering for the Pendo for Agents team in New York City. You will own the technical direction, ensure delivery quality, and build a strong engineering organization capable of scaling a greenfield product area.

In this hybrid role, you will balance hands-on architectural work with coaching, mentoring, and recruiting to grow top talent. The compensation range is $240,000–$260,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of engineering experience including 2+ years in a people-management role.
• Hands-on architecture experience with LLM or agent systems (RAG, tool-calling, orchestration).
• Experience delivering in greenfield or early-stage product areas where architecture is being defined.
• Experience managing delivery across sprint or quarterly planning cycles.
• Strong build-versus-buy judgment in a fast-moving AI tooling landscape.
• Strong technical foundation in frontend or back-end development (React, Angular, Vue, Go, Python, Java, Ruby, or C#).
• Experience hiring for technical roles, calibrating interview panels, making offers, and closing candidates.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a team of engineers today and beyond.
• Own the technical direction for Pendo for Agents end-to-end.
• Partner with Product and Design to deliver high-quality features using Agile practices.
• Guide prioritization, planning, and delivery across sprints and quarters.
• Stay hands-on in architecture while growing the team’s capabilities.
