Job summary

Simon Property Group is seeking a Director of Marketing and Business Development in Charlotte, NC. The role focuses on revenue generation through sale of mall and media assets, and overall strategic marketing direction for the shopping center.

Responsibilities include identifying revenue opportunities, retailer engagement, budgeting, and executing national/regional programs while driving social media growth and data collection. Occasional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BA or BS degree with emphasis in sales, marketing, or business.
• 4-6 years previous experience in sales, sponsorship, strategic marketing, event management, and budgeting.
• Knowledge of retail management, marketing and advertising and working knowledge of the media industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, selling, and negotiation skills with the ability to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with others.
• Superior computer skills and the ability to communicate verbally, visually, and in writing.
• Flexibility to work varied schedules including weekends and evenings.
• Some overnight travel required.
• Ability to think strategically.

Responsibilities

• Identify, create and sell revenue opportunities through strategic positioning of mall assets, media assets, and mall programming to achieve financial sales goals.
• Develop and implement retailer intensification strategies and promote platform program opportunities to retailers.
• Flawlessly execute all national and/or regional SBV programs and initiatives at the field level.
• Create annual marketing budgets based on retailer dues and allocate expenses to support programming and brand messaging.
• Develop and execute an annual marketing plan utilizing platform programs to support corporate marketing objectives and center objectives like EBIDTA and leasing.
• Coordinate shopping center visual merchandising, signage and advertising programs.
• Maintain effective media relations by fielding media calls and preparing responses.
• Drive growth of social media channels and data collection (SMS and Email) for the business unit.
